Alteration

I'm a tall bloke, with a long torso. For that reason I generally avoid bib shorts because they never fit me right due to the braces/straps being too short and cutting into my shoulders. I gave the Lusso Carbon bibs a go and unfortunately they were no different. I made use of the alteration service to extend the straps. I live quite locally to Lusso so drop off and pick up was no problem and made things more convenient. The alteration to extend the straps was done very well and sypathetic to the original materials and style of the shorts. If you'd just pulled a brand new pair of shorts out of the bag, made in such a way that the alteration was done, you wouldn't think twice about it. The shorts now fit me much better, don't cut in and I don't feel like I have a tight elastic band stretched between my shoulders and bum! I think the £20 price is incredibley good value. Turnaround time was about two weeks. Maybe on the Alteration web page Lusso could give some examples of what they can do as an alteration.

Had a pair of cargo tights that were far to long in the leg as I have short legs.
Lusso kindly offered to turn them into 3/4 length ones. They did an excellent job, I have four items of clothing from Lusso all excellent and made locally.

I find that foot loops on leggings are a really useful addition for XC skiing, winter walking etc as they allow you to don socks without the leggings riding up. They make a good product great. Thank you.

Having a long back I took advantage of the alteration service to have longer braces. The return took longer than anticipated so I didn't have them in time for my November trip and have only just tested them out. The braces are now the correct length. However, they have been sown with raised seams on the inside. Whilst this looks good cosmetically it would have been more comfortable to have the seams on the outside or flat sown. As an experiment I took a pair of cheap planet x shorts to the local alterations shop. They managed to alter them by sowing in extra elasticated material using flat seams, so it can be done. Aside from the braces they are a very good fit, I'll need to do some more riding in them but so far the pad is doing its job. As no seems to make good quality waist shorts any longer (yes Lusso you used to make them) and no one produces adjustable bib shorts, getting alterations done is the only option for those of us of non standard body size. I'm glad you offer this option but the way it's done could be improved. Maybe you should also have a look at the way Mountain Equipment produce adjustable braces for their mountaineering trousers.
